MainStreet Roswell
First Friday DownTown Market
October 6, 2017
Jazz It Up!

In honor of the Jazz Festival (which is coming up later this month, Oct. 18-22) our downtown merchants have chosen “Jazz It Up!” as the theme for October First Friday. There will be lots of “jazzy” specials for shoppers. We also have some unique entertainment planned.

Stop by Reischman Park (308 N. Main Street) 5:00 – 8:00 pm to hear talented musicians Khai French and Jani Kosturski. Do you like ice cream? If yes, then try to out-eat other competitors at one of two free ice cream eating contests, at Reischman Park, 5:30 or 6:30, sponsored by Albertson’s Market. Winners will receive a free Chile Cheese Festival T-Shirt, losers will have a tummy full of ice cream!

We also have a group of award winning “Flag Wavers” who are here from Italy. Sbandieratori del Niballo will do two flag throwing/waving demonstrations on the sidewalk area across the street from the Chaves County Courthouse (400 N. Main area). They will do one demonstration at 6:00 pm and one at 7:00 pm with colorful costumes, drummers, and amazing skill at choreographed flag waving/throwing. Come watch, then you can visit our downtown shops to take advantage of great specials, enter an ice cream eating contest, listen to some awesome music, and enjoy a yummy meal at one of our great downtown restaurants.

For details and a list of specials, visit our website www.mainstreetroswell.org, or check out our FaceBook page, MainStreet Roswell.

Do you need a vacation – well Roswell’s fall evenings are beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxing, shopping is unique, and parking is plentiful. Join us this First Friday and spend a relaxing “mini-vacation” in beautiful downtown Roswell!

Our First Friday Downtown Market event is a volunteer-driven event sponsored by MainStreet Roswell and its stakeholders.  Our goal is to create a fun way to bring the neighborhood together and introduce Roswell residents to all Downtown Roswell has to offer.  With great local shopping and dining, as well as a strong art and music culture, this will provide a great way for people to connect and experience their community.

Select merchants will stay open from 5PM-8PM (or later) every first Friday of the month.  We want to create a monthly event that will grow into something great while encouraging people to shop downtown.  Enjoy a meal from your favorite restaurant.  Relax and eat while enjoying music from local musicians in beautiful Reischman Park!  Meet fellow residents and shop owners in the area.  This is a wonderful community event!
